WHO THOUGHT 22 YEARS LATER, and I still love doing this …it started with stocking and watering plants at a garden centre in Cambridge. I enjoyed working outside, learning about plants and helping customers select the right ones for their gardens. “Frank,” a great guy at work, suggested I take the Landscape Design program at Fanshawe College in London. What was Landscape Design? Three years later, I graduated. So thanks, Frank - you set me on my journey!
My first job was Landscape Designer for a company in Waterloo. It was a hands-on experience. I worked from sunrise to sundown, selling landscape designs and installing them with my crew. Landscape construction is hard work, but it’s rewarding to see the projects come to life.
A move to Dundas landed me a position as Junior Landscape Designer - no more hand digging and blisters. It was a prestigious firm, and I learned how to design and present a professional landscape plan. I was encouraged to become a Certified Landscape Designer through Landscape Ontario and was certified in 2002. I gained experience in design, project management and construction and developed professional relationships with landscape contractors - some I still work with today.
Moving on and up - new job - I was hired as a Senior Landscape Designer. This position grew into managing the design department. Working directly with the owner, I have come to respect what it takes to run a landscape company. Over the years, we prepared many designs and quotes for clients, doing our best to stay in the trends and striving to create unique landscape designs for which we have won many Awards of Excellence.
We have been fortunate to WIN numerous Awards of Distinction over the years for our Designs.
The landscape industry is very important to us and we are proud to be a long standing member of Landscape Ontario
